This is what I have on my worktable at the moment. It will become layered beaded chokers –eventually. Work on the necklaces is slow at the moment.
It seems that the more I have to do in my “non crafting life”, you know the kind that pays the bills, I turn to projects that are time consuming. Believe it or not, I have been working on these necklaces for a couple of weeks now.
I think it is the calm and peacefulness that beading brings me. It is like therapy. All I have to think about is which pattern I am creating, after that it is just placing one small bead after the other on the cord.
I hope to be able to show you how the necklaces turned out soon!
In the meantime why don’t you check out the shop here on tline.se or visit my shops on Etsy or DaWanda to see all available items!
So this is a progress report of that design I showed you on Monday. I started out making the necklace according to my sketch, and after that it was many trials and errors.
I know I really can’t draw, but maybe you can guess by my sketch where this new idea is going. It’s my work in progress right now.
Chains will replace the areas where there are only lines, and all pearls will be on one side. More and more for each strand. If the finished version will be like the sketch, I have no idea. Still early days in this design.
I hope to show it to you soon!
I have not one, but two pretty big beading projects going at once. These will be a work in progress for a while, since the beading alone usually takes a few hours per necklace. Continue reading
This week I took out my leather cords. I enjoy working with leather, but it can also be a challenge. Leather is a natural material and doesn’t always behave the way you want. Continue reading
So I started creating. But to finish this new project will take a while. Because if I think my multi stranded bib necklaces take long to make, this is going to be even worse. I have decided to make a statement necklace with long beaded strands.
How many beads do I have? I have to know for the tax report.
So this time of year I am working a lot in my small business. But nothing that you as a customer can see. It is all paper work and counting the inventory. And each year I am learning from my mistakes. Continue reading
I don’t always consciously decide what I am going to make. Sometimes the creativity just flows. But this week I took a look at the beads I had bought, and started a project that will be a work in progress the whole week. Continue reading
It doesn’t always come out the way you want. I had a photo shoot, and 99% of the pictures turned out like this:
So, as you might have guessed, it turns out that the rainy weather made it too dark to take any photos. The camera needed a very long exposure, and I moved too much.
It was a bad day for photos.
I thought I would share a bit of my process when making a necklace. This is not a how to, or tutorial, just showing the work behind what may look like a simple chain necklace. So here we go.
