This is what I have on my worktable at the moment. It will become layered beaded chokers –eventually. Work on the necklaces is slow at the moment.
It seems that the more I have to do in my “non crafting life”, you know the kind that pays the bills, I turn to projects that are time consuming. Believe it or not, I have been working on these necklaces for a couple of weeks now.
I think it is the calm and peacefulness that beading brings me. It is like therapy. All I have to think about is which pattern I am creating, after that it is just placing one small bead after the other on the cord.
I hope to be able to show you how the necklaces turned out soon!

So I started creating. But to finish this new project will take a while. Because if I think my multi stranded bib necklaces take long to make, this is going to be even worse. I have decided to make a statement necklace with long beaded strands.

It doesn’t always come out the way you want. I had a photo shoot, and 99% of the pictures turned out like this:
So, as you might have guessed, it turns out that the rainy weather made it too dark to take any photos. The camera needed a very long exposure, and I moved too much.
It was a bad day for photos.
I thought I would share a bit of my process when making a necklace. This is not a how to, or tutorial, just showing the work behind what may look like a simple chain necklace. So here we go.
It is not unusual to have an assistant to help you when you are doing you job. But as a small business owner my assistants are a bit different than the ordinary kind. Mine are not paid, and some of them are even a bit stiff.
