So I beaded some more choker necklaces. A grey with clear beads, a white with grey beads and a purple with a grey beads.
All three chokers are made in layers. Just because it is fun. 🙂
Look! The leather chokers in new versions!
I was working on beading that red necklace (sort of half way by now I think) but just felt like doing something completely different. So I took out my leather cords and some beads – and made these little new choker necklaces.
Usually when I create something I go with the flow. This time I decided that I needed to remake a few of my sold choker necklaces. The design has been around for a while and I have made this necklace with many different types of beads and even stones.
It is very seldom my little creative corner (which actually usually is a little space on the floor of the living room) turns into a sort of factory. But this time it kind of did, as the top photo maybe tells you. I took one piece of leather, and glued the beads in different places, one colour at a time.
The purple and the teal green are beads I have used before, so these necklaces will be put straight into my Etsy shop (soon I hope). But the light blue and the red are brand new colours and will be put into my shop here. I just need to take photos wearing them first, I did not get a chance to do that this weekend.
Which colour is your favourite?
It is quite fun when you design something new, it is a challenge. You don’t know if it will turn out good or not.
This time it is the multi stranded choker I made, where I did not know if combining two colors sort of half and half would look nice. But hey, you can only try…
I am happy with how it looks, the grey and the turquoise do look nice together. And also I like the idea that I got that there are some beads that are among the “wrong” color.
This choker necklace has more strands than the other beaded chokers I have made before, because I wanted it to get more of a chunky look, so I made this one with eight strands.
I also made a new bib necklace, using only clear glass beads that looks like drops. This minimalist style small statement necklace can be worn with any outfit.
Both these necklaces can already be found in my shop.
So here they are, the first necklaces this fall. I still enjoy my beading as you can see. 😉
The blue bib necklace has such an amazing colour, I would say it is a deep cobalt blue, and such a contrast to the beaded choker and the leather necklace which are only grey scale.
Well, it is true. The stones made me do it. I was searching my bead cabinet for some misplaced seed beads, when I came across a bag of mixed odd stones. I had put it away not knowing what I would make of them. I can’t make a pair of earrings with one stone and, in the past, all my necklaces has been with many beads.
But now that I found it, I knew exactly what to do! Chain choker necklaces with single stones.
This is the result, five chain chokers with five different stones. From left to right: white howlite, purple amethyst. green moss agate, clear quartz and brown agate.
The seed beads I was looking for? Still have not found them.
I hope to have the chokers in my shop soon!
I have not made chokers for a long time. But thanks to a customer asking me about a different bead for one of my designs in the shop, I realised I could make more new choker necklaces by combining other beads.
So I finished them this morning, those layered choker necklaces I started a while ago. I made three of them – in black, white and gray.
I still need to take modelled photos, so you can see how the layer effect looks when the necklaces are worn. Keeping my fingers crossed it will be weather for it tomorrow. 🙂
Keep an eye out, will have them in the shop soon!
