Making more layered chokers
I enjoy beading, because it is like therapy. So at the moment I am making more layered chokers. The first one (purple) has five strands made and just need assembling. The second will be bronze and olive nuances. I just finished putting all the beads on the wire.
The earlier ones I made was only in a grey scale – black, white and grey.
I plan to do more of these beaded chokers, but when that will be only the future will tell. 🙂
Remember to check out my shop here, and also the shops on Etsy and DaWanda are full of my jewelry!
On my table right now is a beading project. Last year I sold a few of my multi stranded bib necklaces made with small seed beads, and I have decided to remake a few. The one in the photo I have just started, but I have a turquoise half made one also, and a white one planned (but not started).
When finished, it is my idea that they will look like, or maybe more be similar too because they never turn out the same twice, as these earlier sold necklaces.
But it will probably be another week or two, before I get them all done. 😛
Meanwhile, available items can always be found in my shop, on Etsy and on DaWanda.
Sometimes inspiration comes as a surprise. This time it was a question from a customer, about a special pair of earrings. And it triggered my creativity.
Works in progress, to become hoop earrings.
I am still working on one of the necklaces I was going to show you, so this will be just a sneak peak of what’s coming.
I am making long chain necklaces at the moment. Two with stones (hematite and agate) and one with white pearls. All combined with small chains.
I hope to be able to show them in full soon!
This is what I have on my worktable at the moment. It will become layered beaded chokers –eventually. Work on the necklaces is slow at the moment.
It seems that the more I have to do in my “non crafting life”, you know the kind that pays the bills, I turn to projects that are time consuming. Believe it or not, I have been working on these necklaces for a couple of weeks now.
I think it is the calm and peacefulness that beading brings me. It is like therapy. All I have to think about is which pattern I am creating, after that it is just placing one small bead after the other on the cord.
I hope to be able to show you how the necklaces turned out soon!
In the meantime why don’t you check out the shop here on tline.se or visit my shops on Etsy or DaWanda to see all available items!
So this is a progress report of that design I showed you on Monday. I started out making the necklace according to my sketch, and after that it was many trials and errors.
I have not one, but two pretty big beading projects going at once. These will be a work in progress for a while, since the beading alone usually takes a few hours per necklace. Continue reading
I don’t always consciously decide what I am going to make. Sometimes the creativity just flows. But this week I took a look at the beads I had bought, and started a project that will be a work in progress the whole week. Continue reading
I thought I would share a bit of my process when making a necklace. This is not a how to, or tutorial, just showing the work behind what may look like a simple chain necklace. So here we go.
I passed a craft supplies shop in the city the other day. I had no plans of making any purchase, but they just happened to have a sale on all jewelry supplies. So look what I just had to buy!
